ABOUT PURPOSE & PERFORMANCE IN PUBLIC INVESTOR LEADERSHIP AT THE DRUCKER SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT
“Success in the knowledge economy comes to those who know themselves—their strengths, their values, and how they best perform.” – Peter F. Drucker
Considered “the inventor of modern management,” Peter F. Drucker is known around the world for his time-tested management doctrine that makes sense, gets results and empowers everyone in an organization to make a lasting difference. He influenced governments, non-profits, and top public companies. He was an Austrian-born immigrant, a respected mentor, and a brilliant man who placed a high premium on being ethical, globally minded, and socially conscious. He taught at Claremont Graduate University from 1971 until 2003.
In line with SILC’s mission to inform, educate and nurture current and future leaders of institutional investors, SWFI® and Akin Gump have partnered with the Drucker School of Management to create a program focused on Peter Drucker’s purpose and performance-driven strategies for understanding, managing, and leading organizations in a complex landscape.
Using the themes, observations, and guiding principles of Peter Drucker—while simultaneously connecting to the practical, current-day challenges—CGU’s faculty will provide tangible tips and takeaways to create and empower effective managers that contribute to a values-based culture known to institutional investors.
